Heel Pain in Children

The most common cause of heel pain in children is a disturbance to the growing area at the back of the heel bone where the strong Achilles tendon attaches to it.  This condition is called Calcaneal Apophysitis.

Calcaneal Apophysitis is most common between ages 10—14 and usually responds readily to treatment.   To learn more about your child’s heel pain, download our brochure Heel Pain in Children (pdf).

Heel Pain in Children covers:

  • The cause of heel pain in children
  • Prevention
  • Home treatment
  • When to seek professional treatment

Don’t let your child live with heel pain.  It usually responds well to conservative treatment.  Call today for an evaluation in our convenient Seattle office.
